Sample: Roger Moved In

Chapter 1

It was one month before the fall term when Andy and I advertised for a roommate. Fred, who was a bore, had decided to transfer to a different college out of state. Roger was the last one to show up the day we were showing the flat.
Andy had already changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, thinking there would be no more applicants showing up. I started heating up the oven to slide in a pizza for dinner. The doorbell rang.

“I’m here about the room for rent,” I heard a deep voice say at the door. I should have been annoyed that he was so late, but I’ve always been a sucker for a manly voice. I pulled the box from the freezer and placed it on the counter and hurried to the living room to find Andy frozen at the door.

“Come in,” he managed to say but never got out of the way. He was mesmerized looking up at the giant dark haired jock who was as tall as the door frame. An extra large t-shirt agonized to cover the guy’s massive chest and arms.

“You might want to step aside to let him in,” I said as I arrived at their spot and gently moved Andy out of the way by the sides of his arms.

The stranger walked in and dropped his gym bag and backpack on the floor before walking around checking out the place. He stepped outside to the balcony for a minute while Andy and I smirked at each other, acknowledging that he was very attractive. Andy gestured, silently commenting on how tall and big he was, I nodded before he walked back inside looking up.

“Tall ceilings. I like that. Which bedroom is it?” he said as he started walking down the hallway.

“The one at the end of the hall,” Andy shouted before we started following him.

“Ha, tiny bed! That will have to change,” he said as he laid on the single size mattress, showing us how his legs stuck out from the calves down.

“That was left behind by our previous roommate. You could probably fit a king size bed,” I commented.

“Good! I’ll take it!” He shouted.

“Wait! We haven’t decided. There were others that filled out applications earlier,” Andy said.

“I said that I’ll take it,” he said and pulled from his pocket a roll of bills from which he separated enough to cover the deposit and two month’s rent.

“Andy, we should let him have the room. He looks like he can pay the rent on time,” I suggested.

“But he hasn’t filled out the paperwork plus, we said the room would be ready to move in on the first,” Andy insisted.

“Don’t make things difficult, I moved in today!” he said confidently as he pulled more bills that covered two more months of rent and held them in our general direction.

“Ding! Ding! We have a winner,” I said, and took the money from his huge hand.

“I’m Roger. It will be fun living here,” he said.

“This is Andy and I’m Craig. I was about to make pizza for dinner. Do you want to join us?” I offered, putting the cash in my pocket.

“Sure, but let’s just order in. I’m buying. You guys want to call it in, while I take a shower? I’ll have one extra large with the works but no pineapple. That shit don’t belong on a slice,” he said, plopping another couple of twenties on the dresser.

In the kitchen, I threw the box back in the freezer and turned off the stove. At one point, I remember thinking that anyone who would see two college guys acting like teenage girls would find us repulsive. I still say Andy was worse.

“Totally handsome and those green eyes,” Andy carried on.

“I can’t get over how much of him there is,” I mentioned as I pulled a couple of beers from the fridge.

“You just want to know if his cock matches the rest of his size,” Andy said, almost giggling.

He and I had shared the apartment for two years, since freshman year. Part of the reason we got along so well was because we were both on a cheer leading scholarship. We had a rule that we wouldn’t go after the same guy and that had served us well in the past.

The sound of the shower poured in from down the hallway. The delivery arrived and was placed over the kitchen counter.

“The food is here,” I shouted to no response.

“The pizza is here! Do you want a beer?” Andy asked when he got to the entrance of the corridor.

“Fuck yeah! I’ll be right there!” he shouted.

As I put plates and napkins out, Roger emerged from the hallway with one of my white bath towels around his waist and drying his hair with Andy’s. If it had been anyone else, we might have protested, but we were too distracted by the mountain of muscles before us. I could swear that one of his hard nipples would be bigger than my thumb.

Nestled between his two impossibly abundant chest muscles lay a strange object dangling from a gold chain around his neck. The gem at the center of it seemed to emanate a fiery red light. It was hard to keep from staring into it.

“If you don’t like beer, we have some soda too,” Andy offered.

“Beer is good,” he answered, flipping the lid of the first box with his index finger. He folded the pie in half and proceeded to bite into it. Andy and I were more dainty about it, taking the time to tear the slices and serving ourselves one at a time.

“It’s probably not the best, but we like that the restaurant is around the corner and they deliver quickly,” I said, trying to create conversation.

“No. It’s great.” he answered, devouring with hunger like a beast after a hunt.

“So are you enrolled in school? I don’t think I’ve seen you around campus,” Andy asked.

“I just transferred from City College. Maybe one of you two can show me around sometime,” he asked.

“Yes, totally!” we both answered in unison, realizing how it must have sounded.

“When do you want to move in your things, Roger? Andy asked while taking a small bite as if he were a debutante on a first date.

“I don’t have much. My clothes fit in my backpack. I’ve never lived in one place long enough to get furniture. I’ll have to get a mattress and that’s it. Who needs more?”

“Indeed,” I answered.

“I have to ask you two something,” Roger said.

“Sure,” Andy responded and I nodded.

“Cool. Are you two queer?” Roger asked without hesitation.

Andy and I looked at each other. We couldn’t blame him. He must have read our body language. Maybe he overheard us talking about him. We took a moment before we admitted it.

“Yes, we are, but not a couple,” I managed to say.

“Oh, totally not a couple. Why do you ask? Does it bother you?” Andy asked point blank.

“Nah! I had a gay roommate before. Nice guy. Now, since we’re being open, I got to tell you about myself. I’m not gay, just extremely frisky all the time. There’ll be a lot of action happening in my bedroom, so I hope you don’t mind,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s a problem if you have girls visit. As long as they don’t move in or spend the night too often, we’ll get along fine,” I affirmed.
